Husky (short coat) : : Female : : Adult : : Medium
RIDLEY - 1-5 years old, 40 pounds, nervous with new people, but seems to like children, dog social. Ridley was found as a stray with a young husky buddy (Beau 2503-0925). She is pure white, beautiful, and has straight up ears and deep brown eyes. Although jumpy and bouncy in the cage with her buddy, she is nervous and scared outside with new people. We managed to get her outside and upon meeting other dogs, she seemed right at home. She ran around, sniffed, chased and was chased - seemingly having a fantastic time! With us humans, however, she was still nervous. She would approach, sniff and then back off. Outside of our playgroup yard, walking back inside the shelter, Ridley was very scared and was jumping and almost backing out of her collar, nervous to get too close to me I thought. When with this girl, you're going to have to go slow to allow her to get used to you. Make sure you have that Martingale collar on her so she cannot get out of it. Treats help but they are not the end all. Patience will be a virtue with this little girl as she navigates through meeting a new family and gets used to a new routine. She is petite, like a puppy almost, and I imagine once out from behind the wall she has up, she will be bouncy, playful and all over you! She will likely need training and this could help her get used to her new family and home. Bring in any resident dog for a meet and greet. Video of 2503-0924 Ridley (Off Site Foster):
