Bulldog / Mixed (short coat) : : Male : : Adult : : Large
CHAMP - 5 years old, 60 pounds, playful, protective of his people and home. Champ was in the same home for around 5 years and recently surrendered when his owner could no longer care for him. We are told Champ is kid friendly, house trained, and crate trained! We are off to a great start for this low rider big black cuddly boy! He is nervous in the shelter cage but seems to warm up quickly. He enjoys going for at least one walk a day and with his unadulterated good looks, people will certainly turn their heads to look at him. Champ can be trusted roaming free most of the time and when left alone, he's used to being limited to a room. He is not too comfortable riding in cars and is scared of loud voices. We don't know about other dogs but gave him a shot with a couple of our solid dog social dogs. He entered the group easily, approached the other dogs appropriately, and sniffed. As he got more comfortable with the other dogs, we noticed him very interested in one who showed his teeth to let Champ know that he wasn't comfortable with Champ. Champ backed off. Good boy, Champ!
